I will raise a glass to calling stick stuff above the shoulder and especially boarding ad charging. I just wish I believed the league cared enough to do that consistently. That's why I grew to love olympic hockey. It was called clean and made for some impressively entertaining and skilled hockey. Skill was allowed to take front and center stage as it should IMO.
Nice to hear. JG and Sheary look to be having strong games as well - Thorny87
McKegg has been interesting. He seems like a good fit for 4C with his speed and two-way game, but I get the feeling people will be frustrated with him since he doesn't have great hands despite having a goal tonight.
Can someone explain to me this new faceoff penalty? Is it as simple is that if the replacement faceoff player gets kicked out it's a penalty? - Rinosaur

The replacement player must come in & say 'g'day mate' or he's (frank)ed. It's also a penalty straight away of the replacement guy comes in & says '(frank) you zeb, you banana eater'.
The search is over Adam Johnson is the new 3C. Its really tough watching the biggest dog in the yard (Reeves) chase the game like this. Hes not a good hockey player. [url]

I feel like a forward is going to be traded, because its going to be difficult to keep the young kids out. If they do, at least it looks like it could be a pretty solid year for Wilks, lots of talent going to be down there.
Keep in mind Blueger is playing a B2B. Can't remember if Simon was in last night too - Victoro311
I thought they were both fine. Blueger would be an upgrade over Carter for 4C. The really bad guys were Reaves, G. Wilson, and Zach Trotman who was abhorrent. Bengtsson was very steady playing with Dumo who looks much faster than even last year, he was flying. Cole and SHultz were their normal selves and likely to play together again this year. That Sheary, Johnson, Guentzel line looked like the Penguins own triplets line. Guentzel had 4 points and he was dangerous every shift. Too many penalties but the game was a lot of fun. The Wings definitely had more of their NHL squad than the Pens did.

Where does Hagelen fit this lineup? A $4 million fourth liner? Adam Johnson is a playmaker, he needs to play with guys that dont have hands of stone. Hagelen and Reaves on the 4th line would be a forechecking machine but who do you lose to waivers if you keep him around? Kuhnhackle, Wilson, Rust even, thats a lot of talent to just give away?
I'll be curious to see how the Pens move forward with Johnson. I got a little ahead of myself earier, before remembering a certain player named Sundqvist who in his first pre-season was a major standout only to be sent back, and we all know how that turned out.
That being said, what really impressed me about Johnson was his patience, awareness and decision-making.
McKegg is definitely giving the Pens reason to consider him for 4C.

Friendly reminder that DET sucks and that wasn't even close to being a competent hockey team they iced tonight. - Feds91Stammer
Yea haha but it's nice to see a center for us stick out cause we need all the help we can get. Nyquist was flying out there. Is that Lorito supposed to be any good?
